Sales Controversy Defined by Days Gone and the Ghost of Tsushima: The PlayStation first-party lineup pack fresh and thrilling experiences for players of all ages. Marvel’s Spider-Man delivers adrenaline-pumping thrills, and the last of Us tells a gritty story.

There’s a wide variety of games available on the PlayStation platform. This is why the most intense competition could be from within.

Days Gonehit the PS4 in 2019 to a mixed response. It greets mixed reviews, which marry by bugs and criticisms directed at the plot’s familiar themes.

It seemed like there was no chance that Day’s Goneever was another installment.

In the year following, the year 2020, Sucker Punch released the perfect Ghost of Tsushima game, which is a worldwide action title that allows players to play as a single Samurai called Jin Sakai.

With numerous Game of the Year nominations and a flurry of applause from gamers, Ghost of Tsushima established itself as an excellent entry in PlayStation’s first-party PlayStation lineup.

It’s one of several previous titles that have enjoyed both critical and commercial success.

Days Gone didn’t meet the standards, especially in the latter. But, unfortunately, that’s how it appeared until new details recently came out.

Sales Controversy Defined by Days Gone and the Ghost of Tsushima

Days Gone Lifetime Sales Numbers

Given the lack of reaction for Days Gone when it first launched in the first place, it was soon apparent that it was not playing the same field as other top PlayStation games.

Days Gonewasn’t an unfavorable game by any means or did it receive negative reviews.

It just did not compare to the kind of game players were used to on the developer’s part.

Due to this, it appeared that there was an idea that the Game may not have been as successful in terms of return on investment and could have harmed the sequel’s chances.

This further confirm by reports that last year claimed a proposal for an update to Days Gone reject by Sony and prompted Bend Studio to begin production on an entirely new IP.

Fans started forming petitions to persuade Sony to reconsider their decision, but the request seemed to fall upon the wrong side of the fence.

Bend Studio seems to have left behind the brief-lived world in Days Gone, although Deacon St. John could be the basis of a series of adventures to come shortly.

The positive reviews of Day Gonemay thought to be a significant influence on the sales.

In time’s end, gaming is a business, and when a game is successful, Sony will likely fast-track the follow-up to keep the ball moving.

But, a new aspect has been revealed and is the most shocking of all. Days Gonedirector Jeff Ross made a post on social media following Sucker Punch told it had Ghost of Tsushimahad sold 8 million copies.

That’s certainly an impressive amount; however, Jeff Ross revealed that Days Gonehad also surpassed that mark in December of 2020.

The Stress to Be Successful on PlayStation

This latest revelation regarding how Days Gonesales compares quite similarly to Ghost of Tsushima‘s caused fans to go into a frenzy earlier in the week.

The main reason for this is that Sony’s Sucker Punch franchise appears to give a high-profile status. However, the company will overlook similar economic successes in Days Gone

Many fans believe this is unjust and odd since both games have been profitable successes to the business.

This raised fans’ question: What made one IP worthy of being the center of attention while the other was put aside.

Bend Studio is no less ambitious than Sucker Punch, with just the same amount of talent within its walls.

Jeff Ross has recently revealed that in addition to the Days Gonesequel pitch, Sony also turned down the idea he came up with for an open-world resistance game.

While sales are an integral part of the reputation and success of a game, in the case of PlayStation, there could be some credibility to playing, aside from making huge bucks.

Sony has built an image for itself by providing some of the most popular and best games within the gaming market, with games that can be innovative and entertaining in huge sizes.

Days Gone is undoubtedly a top game; however, there’s a possibility that it was just “good” wasn’t enough to get it with Sony.

Days Gone is available for download right now on PC and PS4.
