An online survey conducted by From Software: Before From Software became a household name, with Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Dark Souls, the studio’s Armored Core series of mech combat shooters helped define its reputation as a challenging but exciting game.
After a hiatus of nine years, rumors of a return for the series were floating at the end of last year.
A blog post by ResetEra forum member Red Liquorice hinted at the possibility. Of a brand new game in a questionnaire sent out from From Software.
According to the article, players can anticipate the brand-new Armored Core to feature an “overwhelmingly scaled map.
that represents a unique sci-fi world with dynamic mech action,” with a setting created through Dark Souls and Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki.
The post does not contain the footage from the game, as seen in the survey.
However, the subsequent posts explain the footage as having influences on The Souls games. Which includes close-range combat against a giant boss and an open-snow area that players can explore.
The new game offers a “high degree of freedom in customization” and the ability to modify mechs to suit unique gameplay styles.
As well as an assortment of short- and long-range battles with melee weapons and guns against formidable adversaries.

The new game is to take place on a planet named Bashar, where a potent substance. Known as Melange has caused an apocalyptic calamity several decades before the events in the game.
The description states that different groups, such as “the government, corporations, cultists, and unknown mercenaries,” are all seeking ways to use the power of Melange to achieve their goals. The player is part of one of the organizations.
It’s not the first time From Software has hinted at an upcoming entry in the cult series. In 2018, Miyazaki spoke of the new Armored Core’s existence in an interview with the studio about the studio’s plans.
Likewise, marketing director Yasunori Omura used images from an unnamed Armored Core title. As his Twitter profile in the final days of 2019.
The most recent Armored Core release was 2013’s Armored Core: Verdict Day, a standalone expansion of five main games.
The series didn’t include its PS4 or Xbox One generation of consoles because From Software focused on the Souls games.
However, a complete return to this series could provide a satisfying return to old fans. And an excellent opening for those who are new to the series.
