One clip showed a Dying light 2 streamer being scared off by an NPC.
It was both funny and surprising. This is an example of one of the more benign, gentle moments the game can create. These moments are a sign of the open-world experience, where anything can happen.
Another example was when ZealousidealFilm4763, a Reddit user, tried to have a conversation with Maya, and then Maya lost her head.
ZealousidealFilm4763 could not communicate with Maya because her head began to spin all over. Instead, ZealousidealFilm4763 had to stare at Maya’s head as it moved in every direction. Maya’s head seemed to be in no danger, unlike Dying light 2’s daily chase bug.
The stranger is that Maya becomes more erratic when one examines her body. Her body usually is average until her stomach starts to twist in the direction she wants. Usually, her feet and legs face towards ZealousidealFilm4763.
As her arms and hands are still frozen in place and odd positions, they don’t seem to move at all. Maya’s head and mouth are the only ones that move throughout the video. Her body movements make her appear like an infected variant. Techland might consider including Maya in their Dying light 2 Zombie Physics Fix.
Reddit users found the clip funny, making jokes about Maya’s bizarre behavior. One Reddit user suggested that Maya was swiveling her head for more PKs. This is a reference to the conversation in the clip.
Two other users regretted that Maya’s music box had sold by mistake and sold it with other random items. Another user joked that Maya was suffering from long-term inhibitor abuse and that players would soon spin in crazy circles.
These bugs and glitches can decrease immersion, but they can also make for hilarious and memorable clips. Some glitches, just like Dying light 2 Easter egg, can be synonymous with open-world video gaming’s random and fun nature.
