How to Download, Get and Play Minecraft on Chromebook

Here’s how you can download and get Minecraft for Chromebook.

1. First, visit “Settings.”
2. Next, open the Developer option on the left side.
3. Now enable “Linux (beta).”
4. Follow the on-screen instructions
5. Now, run the following commands:

• • sudo apt-get update

• • sudo apt-get upgrade

1. You can also run the following command to stop the installation from failing and to start over.

• • sudo apt-get install default JDK

1. You will now need to enable the Mouse Lock flag (Pointer Lock).

• • chrome://flags/#exo-pointer-lock

1. Log in to the Minecraft site
2. Select “Minecraft” from Games
3. Click on “Get Minecraft”
4. Select “Computer”, , , “Linux”,, and ‘Download’ .
5. This will download the file “Minecraft. deb”.
6. Move the deb file from the “My files” app to the “Linux files” tab.
7. Click it to install
8. After some time, you can open your Launcher
9. Click on the “Up Arrow” key
10. You can find Linux apps in our Launcher.
11. Now open “Minecraft.”
12. Register with your account to play

How to Play Minecraft Education Edition with Chromebook

Minecraft Education Edition runs on Chromebook, unlike the standard version. 

It does not require rooting or other significant workarounds. Here’s how you can download, install and play Minecraft Education Edition on Chromebook.

1. Chromebook: Open “Settings.”
2. Look for the “Google Play Store” option
3. Click the “Turn On” button
4. Now, open the “Play Store” menu on your Chromebook
5. Search for Minecraft Education edition.”
6. Log in using your school account
7. Log in up to 10 times and get a free account
8. After the trial period, you will need to purchase the full version
