Season 4: Mercenaries of Fortune will premiere shortly, and it seems to have its crossover.

A bunch of gold bars around a solitary silver bar issue by the Call of Duty Twitter account. The accompanying text says, “Looks like some mercenaries earned an odd haul,” an obvious allusion to Season 4’s subtitle. 

“Some valuable metals sparkle brighter in the dark,” it also teases.

You can read clear writing on the silver bar by lowering the brightness and increasing the contrast. It says, “Skynet mimetic poly-alloy.” If you look closely at the original image, you can see this, but we tossed the picture into PhotoShop, and the outcome is seen below. 

The self-aware AI software that gave rise to the Terminators in the classic film series is Skynet. In addition, Call of Duty hints at their presence in Warzone.

The only remaining mystery is how these massive robots integrate into the combat royale. Although a Terminator skin for one of the game’s Operators is a simple solution, Call of Duty has recently gone farther with its crossovers.

 On various occasions, AI opponents have strewn around the map; facing up against Terminators in a Warzone match would be a good challenge. We’ll have to wait and see what this collaboration includes.

Fortunately, Warzone Season 4 is just a few weeks away: it premieres on Wednesday, June 22. At its debut, Warzone will include a brand new map. 

It’s called Fortune’s Keep, and it’s a smaller, closer-knit version of Caldera. The Mediterranean-style Town, the mercenary stronghold Keep, and the charming Winery, built like a typical three-lane multiplayer map, are all worth seeing.

Players are starting to wonder what the forthcoming season of post-launch content will entail as focus shifts to the premiere of Season 4 and the introduction of the Fortune’s Keep map.

One Warzone streamer is escalating the stakes while the community waits. However, instead of utilizing a controller or a mouse and keyboard combo, they use a Guitar Hero controller and come out on top.

Guitar Hero-Controlled Warzone Streamer Wins

DeanoBeano, a content developer, is no stranger to employing unconventional techniques to win on Caldera and Rebirth island. For example, they made it to the winner’s circle in 2021 with the help of an electronic drum set.

The streamer is attempting to win on Rebirth Island by utilizing a Guitar Hero controller this time. The streamer explains how they’ve customized the controller for Warzone in their June 12 video before demonstrating their exact abilities.

Despite coming across a nagging Riot Shield user midway through the game, Deano manages to hit pinpoint accuracy shots before approaching the final circle.

They overcome the final opponent, much to their satisfaction, thanks to some well-timed rotation.

Fans and athletes are congratulating each other in the comments section. Many fans want the streamer to experiment with other controllers to see if they can rack up more victories.

Deano isn’t the only one that employs unusual controller techniques. For example, another content creator succeeded in using a baguette as a controller but could not win.

Call of Duty YouTuber @JGODYT shared the first of these cakes on Twitter. This might have “to do with [a] new map designed to be fast-paced and tight quarters,” as JGOD speculates in the tweet.

The cake, which has a map piece written on its icing, see briefly in the accompanying video. It depicts the map’s border, which looks out over the lake, with a point of interest labeled “Camp.”

Next, streamer @BearPigCentral teased us with a delectable tease. BearPig’s tweet uses the exact wording as JGOD’s, just in case you weren’t sure this was all planned.

The second cake depicts a different area of the map, this time with a “Bay” POI.

The bearing follow by @LuckyChamu, a Call of Duty content developer. While their tweet wasn’t as scientifically stated as the previous two, it did illustrate a different part of the globe.

It’s a more extended look than the others, revealing a POI dubbed “Town” in what seems to be the new map’s northwest corner.

Dexerto’s Call of Duty HQ, @CharlieIntel, has started gathering these photographs in a thread. Offering a quick overview of all the map areas disclosed thus far. In addition, there are other POIs call “Terraces” and “Smuggler’s Cove.” It also helps in determining the new map’s scale.

These hints seem to be putting together the new Fortune’s Keep Warzone map.

The smaller, close-quarters approach is reminiscent of what Call of Duty accomplished with Rebirth Island, which provided a more condensed option to the original Verdansk map. Fortune’s Keep is likely to do the same for Caldera.

Of course, Warzone 2.0 is in the works, but no release date for the battle royale sequel has established yet. Its map (which supposedly serves as the DMZ multiplayer level in Modern Warfare 2) has also spotted online in mock-up form. A second map is also said to be coming to Warzone 2.0.
